1.1. Hot-rolled seamless pipe is generally produced on the automatic pipe mill. After checking and removing surface defects, the solid pipe blank is cut into the required length, centering on the end face of the perforated end of the tube blank, then sent to the heating furnace for heating and perforating on the piercing machine. At the same time, the perforation keeps rotating and moving forward. Under the action of the roll and the top, the blank gradually forms a cavity in the billet. Then send it to the automatic pipe mill to continue rolling. Finally, the wall thickness of the whole machine is averaged, and the diameter of the sizing machine is determined to meet the specification requirements. It is a more advanced method to produce hot-rolled seamless steel pipe by continuous rolling mill.

1.2. For smaller and better quality seamless tubes, cold rolling, cold drawing or combination of both shall be adopted. Cold rolling is usually carried out on a two-high rolling mill. Steel pipes are rolled in a circular groove formed by a circular groove with variable section and a fixed conical tip. Cold drawing is usually carried out on single chain or double chain cold drawing machines of 0.5 ~ 100T.
1.3. In the extrusion method, the heated tube blank is placed in a closed extrusion cylinder, and the perforated rod moves together with the extrusion stem, so that the extrusion parts can be extruded from the smaller die holes. This method can produce steel pipe with smaller diameter.
